Cushion cover with pansies, size 50 x 50 cm


  • Fleece, 53 x 110 cm
  • Embroidery, app. 20 x 20 cm    (or you make an embroidery with  the pancy design, you need cotton fabric or mixture, about 25 x 25 cm and embroidery floss, work with 2 strands).
  • Interfacing, app 20 x 20 cm 
  • Ric rac ribbon, 90 cm
  • Viscose ribbon for pipe 4 x 220 cm
  • Cord for pipe, 220 cm
  • 1 Zipper, 45 cm
  • Polyester thread


Prepare embroidery, use a finished embroidery or make one.

Iron on interfacing on backside.

Cut embroidery as square, 20 x 20 cm and finish it nicely with overlock machine or a normal zigzag stitch.

Prepare 2 fleece pieces, one 53 x 53 cm. The other one 53 x 57 (the extra 4 cm are for the zipper). Now insert a zipper with your sewing machine (I always use invisible zippers).

On front piece arrange embroidery, pin it, fix it with large stitches by hand.

Then sew it on --> foto.

Now sew on ric rac around ambroidery.

Iron embroidery well.

Prepare the pipe --> foto. (Easy with a pipe foot).

Insert pipe between front and back part of cushion fabric (rightt side must be inside).

Turn cushion cover, looks nice on your sofa !
