Embroidered flower for your knitted cardigans

Hand embroidered flower knitted cardigan Craftrebella


Embroidered flower, size 14 x 12 cm



Material:

  • Piece of fine cotton,16 x 16 cm
  • Embroidery floss, red, green, yellow shades
  • Polyester thread, red, green
  • Interfacing, 16 x 16 cm
  • Transparent nylon thread
  • Tracing paper

Instruction:

Prepare the stencil. (You can find a lot of drawn flowers in the internet).

Transfer the flower to the cotton fabric, use tracing paper.

Start with embroidery, use lighter colors in the middle of the flower, darker through the edges of the petals. Use only 1 strand for embroidery.

After having finished the flower and the leaves, iron the fabric carefully. Then iron on the interfacing on the back side.

Now sew the lines around the flower and the leaves and also the markings in the petals with your sewing machine. Use polyester thread.

Iron again the flower carefully and make a zig zag seam around it, use transparent nylon thread.
Then cut out the flower with caution and sew again around it with zig zag stitch and transparent nylon thread.
